Wimpy is a 9-year-old AQHA chestnut gelding standing 14.3 hands tall. This is an outstanding, well-bred gelding that is an all-around champ. He is extremely broke to ride in every way possible. He is a trained reining horse that has been shown and is a money earner in the NRHA. The great thing about Wimpy is that he is not a one-trick pony. We have used him on the ranch doing everything from dragging calves to the branding fire to sorting cows in the alleyway. He is also a finished head and heel team roping horse that knows his job and is quiet and easy to operate. He has been ridden by older riders and youth alike and makes it easy to perform all the different maneuvers. He lopes beautiful circles with correct lead changes, spins both directions correctly, and has a big stop. Wimpy is extremely gentle, friendly, and loves to be around people. You can catch him wherever you leave him without any effort. He is trained to let you get on and off from a step or mounting block—simply smooch to him and he will sidestep over to make it easy. He has absolutely no buck or meanness in him at all. He is the kind you can lay off as long as you want, then catch up and ride off just like you left him. This is a rare horse to come across with his excellent disposition and incredible resume. He has no bad habits or vices. He trailers wonderfully, stands great for the farrier, and is easy to bathe and be around. You can wrap a bridle rein around the rail and leave him for hours, and he will stand there quietly. Captain is an 11-year- old 15.1 hand grade quarter horse bay gelding. He is very well built with a nice hip and head. Captain is extremely gentle and broke. He is soft in his sides and super responsive. He has a great turn-around and back. He is willing and safe. Captain stands to get on and off. He is easy to catch and really likes people. He has a super comfortable great walk, and a good trot and lope. He is a seasoned Montana ranch horse and has been roped on outside and will watch a cow. He has been driven single on a cart. Captain is easy to catch, saddle, bridle, and shoe. We rode him in the Livingston Roundup Parade and all the floats, bands, fire engines and clowns and thousands of spectators on the street didn’t bother him a bit. We took him to our wilderness camp in the mountains and he crosses water, logs, and bridges with ease. He will gladly lead, follow, or ride alone. He gets along with all the mares, mules, and geldings and winters out well on grass. He has great manners and doesn’t get herdbound. Captain is a really kind horse that we feel would make a great kids or 4H horse and they could learn safely on him. Anyone would enjoy riding this versatile multi-talented sweet family horse.
