Description: 9 YR OLD GREY GELDING

Stetson is a grade 2015 Quarter Horse gelding that stands 15.3 hands and weighs around 1260 lbs. We’ve used him for a wide variety of things and he always has a willing attitude and a lot of try. He’s done hundreds of trail miles, crossing downfall, water, and bridges. He’ll cross a shallow creek and he’s been through water up to his chest. Stetson rides out alone or in a group, and you can ride him in the front, middle or back of the string. He might get a little noisy and call for his friends if you take him out alone or leave the group, but he’ll go wherever you point him with no fuss and isn’t barn or buddy sour. Stetson has been used on cattle drives and for some novice team penning and he tracks cattle well. He’s got a big motor and a lot of speed when you want it. We’ve competed with him for ski-joring the last couple of winters, carried flags on him and used him to halter break some weanling’s. He was used for a Equine Trail Sport Competition and took 3rd place in the intermediate division. He’ll be lightly started on the heel side by sale time. He rides nice in the arena as well. Neck-reins, moves off your leg, and knows his leads. Stetson is very friendly and loves people, he’ll catch you! Gets along well with other horses, and has been around goats, dogs, chickens, and pigs. He’s great for the farrier to work on and stands for hot shoes. Loads and hauls great.
