There is a 2% buyers premium on all phone bids.

Horse & Mule Sale Terms and Conditions

  1. The highest bidder is the buyer. Any dispute between two or more bidders, sole authority to settle the dispute as he sees fit is reserved by the auctioneer, including the right to reject any or all bids.
  2. Terms of the sale are cash, bankable check or approved credit card.
  3. When a horse is sold, title shall pass to the buyer.
  4. Horses are offered for sale according to the laws of the State of Idaho, and the right to bid is reserved for all sellers in this sale. Sellers have the right to immediately declare NO SALE before the horse leaves the sale ring.
  5. Horses are at the buyer’s expense and risk and responsibility from the time of purchase, but no delivery will be made until final settlement has been made.
  6. There is no guarantee of any kind as to the soundness or condition or other quality of any horse sold in this sale except in a case where the owner makes a specific guarantee. In such cases, the guarantee is strictly by the owner and not the sale management.
  7. All registration papers will be held by the sales management until all checks clear the bank. Then they will be mailed directly to the new owners for you to transfer. If any buyer desires to obtain registration papers immediately, the horses must be paid for in cash. No drafts accepted.
  8. The sale management, auctioneers and employees act as agents for the sellers, but assume no liability for either buyer or sellers. Any representations made by the sale management are made on behalf of the seller.
  9. Every effort has been made to ensure correctness of the catalog. However, sales management, printer and auctioneer assume no responsibility for errors or omissions.
  10. Checks should be made payable to Salmon Select Sales.
  11. Sellers have the right to bid. The auctioneer may protect the seller.
  12. Any person attending this auction does so at his/her own risk and no liability, duty, obligation, and/or responsibility shall be imposed upon Salmon River Association, Inc., Salmon Select Sale LLC, any consignors or any of their agents, or Lemhi County, Fred Snook or any sale personnel for any accident, injury, mishap, theft, damage and/or any other harm, regardless of the source or imposition.
  13. Minimum opening bid shall be $2500.00 for horses and $2500.00 for mules.
  14. PAYMENT & SHIPPING INFORMATION
    Accepted Payment Methods: VISA, Master Card, AMEX , Discover -Direct payment from checking account, wire transfer.
    There will be a 2% Buyers Premium charged for all Internet Bidding and a 2% Buyers Premium charged for all phone bidding.
  15. PAYMENT: If you are the successful online bidder of an animal, you will receive an invoice via email for the full amount due which includes; U.S. Health Certificate Fee of $20.00 per animal. A 2% internet bidding fee and 4% convenience fee if purchased with any major credit card. All fees added to the final bid price on the animals purchased.
  16. PAYMENT TERMS FOR INTERNET AND PHONE BIDS
    4% Convenience Fee added if payment made with any major credit card All fees added to the final bid price on the animals purchased. No payment fee added if purchased with wire transfer or checking account. ATTENTION: All phone and Internet bidders waive their rights to reverse payments on all purchases.
  17. GUARANTEE
    The buyer will be responsible to pick up the horse by noon on Monday, April 17th, or daily stall and feed costs will be due. Each consignor will be completely responsible for guarantees they make on their animals. Guarantees will be made only from the auction block while the animal is being sold. Absolutely no guarantee or warranty will be expressed or implied by the auctioneers or ring men. If you are not happy with these guarantees, please do not purchase a horse from this sale.
  18. AUCTION SHIPPING INFO
    It is the responsibility of the buyer to make arrangements for transport of their horse once it is purchased. Equine Transporters can be located on the Internet and we would suggest that you find someone that is insured and bonded.
  19. PRIVATE SALES
    ABSOLUTLEY NO private sales with consignors prior to the Sale. Consignors have given Salmon Select Sale Exclusive Rights for selling the consigned Horses. Management feels this is unfair to the consignors and buyers who have traveled to attend the sale. All horses brought to the sale must be consigned and go through our auction ring. The GUARANTEES only apply if the sale is run through the AUCTION. Be sure to call the office and let us know you have made arrangements to purchase one of the horses that did not sell in the Ring to insure all sale GUARANTEES.
  20. REQUIREMENTS FOR TRANSPORT
    (Leaving the Salmon Horse Sale):
    Coggins are REQUIRED for transport OUT of Idaho: All horses brought to the sale are required to provided a coggins test current within six months of sale date.
    Brand Inspections are REQUIRED and provided for all Sale Horses: A Brand Inspection (AKA Ownership Papers) MUST BE OBTAINED from the Brand Inspector once you have paid for your horse.
    Health Papers are REQUIRED for transport OUT of Idaho: A Veterinarian will be on the grounds to provide all horses going out of state a current Health Inspection.
    We pride ourselves on the quick and efficient turn-around time in providing our Buyers the required items for transport by our Brand Inspectors and Veterinarian. We have been to numerous sales and we believe ours is by far the best!
  21. CONSIGNOR GUARANTEE
    Each consignor will be totally responsible for guarantees they make on their animals & guarantees will be made only from the auction block while the animal is being sold. Absolutely no guarantee or warranty will be expressed or implied by the auctioneers or ring men.
    SOUNDNESS does not guarantee a vet check. If the buyer wishes to have a vet check prior to the Sale, please contact the consignor and make arrangements with a vet near them.
  22. SOUNDNESS GUARANTEE
    There is NO guarantee of any kind as to the soundness or condition or other quality of any horse sold in this sale except in a case where the owner makes a specific guarantee. In such cases, the guarantee is strictly by the owner and not the sale management.
  23. CONDITIONS
    Salmon Select Sale, LLC & its associates act as agents only and are not responsible for buyer/seller error or misunderstanding. All guarantees are strictly between the buyer and seller. Original Papers must be provided by the Seller to Salmon Select Sale in order for any horse to be sold as a Registered horse.
    In further consideration of this consignment, I agree to indemnify and defend the Salmon Select Sale and Fred Snook, their agents and associates, from all injury, loss of equipment, loss of animal or damages to myself, my animals or damages or injury to others or lien property from my animals, by entering this Horse Sale at Salmon, Idaho. The undersigned by executing this instrument delivers said property to the Salmon Select Sale and declares himself/herself owner or legal agent and authorizes the sale thereof at public auction for his/her account according to its usual custom and represents the consignment is clear of all encumbrances unless listed above and may be legally sold.
