Jim is a kind, fun size dun mule, standing just under 14 hh. This john has a ground covering walk and loves to travel.Jim is sure footed and great to ride or pack, but is best with a confident rider. He has been exposed to tarps, flags, ATVs and dogs. Jim is soft, willing, and a pleasure to ride in the arena or outside. This mule is good to catch, with his feet and with clippers. He generally does not need shoes, and his size makes him perfect to pack or an easy step up to ride. This versatile mule is a quick learner-he adapts well to trail riding, arena work, groundwork, and new training exercises-and will be a lot of fun for someone experienced with mules. Glen is a soft hearted, very friendly, stout muscled, gaited mule with a long standing proven reputation. He has earned a deep respect from his riders young and old, kids to grandmas, beginner to experienced. If you can’t climb up into the saddle, no worry’s, he will lay down for you. Stands good to shoe, bathe, haircut, saddle, bridle, mount, dismount. He trailer loads good. Has gone many days and countless miles from the Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia to the Frank Church Wilderness and back home to the Wind River back country of Wyoming. Will pack or ride thru deadfall, rocks, and rivers. He has led the pack string multiple times. He once met a bear on the trail without any panic. Very good manners in the barn or in the pasture. He loves hugs and likes his ears scratched. Backs and side passes to easily open and close gates. Good around coon and mountain lion dogs. Glen can have the whole winter off and then get back under saddle with no foolishness. He is extremely willing and wants to please.
